Render Troubles:(

I am having trouble getting the files on the farm.  Mainly having something to do with the hypershade on the school computers.  whenever i open it it crashes maya and breaks the file I was working on so it won’t open again.

I have the beast rendered and have removed the maya hair form the cows which is seeming to allow (as of now i have sent one test render to the farm ) the cows to go to the farm.

I have now rendered the cows locally, wouldn’t work on the farm.

It is going to be close…

New Strategy

I am going to separate te scene into 3 separate project files norder to make the folders small enought to go on the farm.  One layer for the cows, one for the enviroment and one for the beast.  This way I hopefully will be able to send everything to the farm.

Still need to nail down the camera moves…

Cows

I have built 3 cow meshes based on the same mesh then I used zbrush to displace them and paint the textures.  I have made several textures and because the meshes all share the same UV layout the textures are interchangeable.  I now have enough variation in the cows to make quite a heard.

New Cow.

The old cows seem to not want to export out their displacement maps out of Zbrush.  So I have started on new cows and they are so far, looking much better  (the old cows I was never so happy with). Here is a cow with the beginnings of a shader applied and some eyes.

RenderMan!

I have now sucesfully exported my displacements to RenderMan!  It is so much faster, so it wil be the renderer of choice for this project.  Because of the fact that it is a micropollygon renderer it flys through the displacement and I will be able to have all of the objects in on sceene and render them.rman
